Salad and more
The morning brought good things today, my flag was still waving in the breeze this morning and there wasn't too much fireworks litter left to blow across the sidewalk which is always nice not to have to clean up someone else's trash.
I went out for the Sunday newspapers and a short walk at the track than came home to enjoy a nice cup of Kona coffee while reading the papers. After the papers I made a nice Greek salad and for a change I purchased Kalamata olives in oil and spices to save time, I also added green olives to give the salad a little twist in taste, I must say I am quite pleased with the results and will enjoy this for lunch tomorrow along with the bottle of Caravel la Limoncella I have chilling.
After
making the Greek salad it was time to water my plants, pull a few
weeds and sweep up the twigs and leaves. The new growth on the
Bamboo is doing quite well its 6 inches tall this morning and looking
quite healthy. The bean seedlings are doing well and the Moon Flower
seedlings under my window and in the planter are looking hardy.
Right now I am enjoying a nice cup of Red Clover tea which I started drinking a few days ago, its a nice mild herbal tea and is supposed to help alleviate Hot Flashes, I drink at least 2 cups per day right now with a plan to drink at least 3 cups daily which wouldn't be too hard except there is a hint of mint in the tea and I don't care for mint tea.
When
I lived in NJ red clover grew right outside my door, when I was 13 or
14 my friends and I would pick the flowers, link them together to
wear in our hair and around our necks, I would never have believed
that someday I would be drinking a tea from those blossoms to ward
off hot flashes. If the red clover does lessen the hot flashes I may
purchase some seeds to grow my own but until then I will just buy the
boxed tea.
Now it is time to read a little before sleep.
